Beth’s Craft Picks of the Week – 6/7/13

I usually try to do these on Mondays, but better late than never, right? 😀

Anyhow!  Here’s this week’s crafty picks – since I’ve gotten into playing some delightfully old video games this week, like Super Mario RPG (my favorite!), this week is going to be retro game themed!

Bitter Luigi Cross-Stitch Pattern

Ahh, Mario, always getting the girl… no wonder Luigi’s a little cranky here.  Cross-stitch pattern found here, at Spritestitch.  And there are tons more patterns there for your enjoyment!

Qbert Cross-Stitch Pattern

Good old Qbert!  This cross stitch pattern is simple, and looks like it’d be a good quick project for a rainy afternoon while watching cheesy 80s movies.  Found here, by Semisweetie on Etsy.

8-Bit Popup Cards

8-bit-3

These cards look really simple to make – just get a craft knife and some brightly colored card stock, and you’re all set!  I did something similar to this when I was in high school, cutting pop up designs out of paper, and I had so much fun with it.  Found at Minieco.co.uk.

Wreck-It Ralph Papercraft

preview

Hey, Ralph is totally retro, right?  I mean, come on, Fix-it Felix Jr., while a fictitious game, is as old as I am!  Here’s a simple little papercraft project, for those who want a Ralph for their desk or who want to practice their craft knife cutting skills on something a little simpler before moving on to the 8-bit popup cards!  Found here, on the Disney website.

And that’s this week’s roundup!  Next week I’ll hopefully have this up on Monday, with some new crafty goodies to keep everyone occupied with!
